2008 Broadband Study
Brandon S. Turner, Intern for Virginia's Region 2000 Local Government Council, has completed an in-depth study of broadband service in the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell, the cities of Bedford and Lynchburg, and the towns of Altavista, Amherst, Appomattox, Brookneal, and Pamplin. The goal of this project is to update the Regional Broadband Infrastructure Study conducted in 2004, identify key areas where broadband service has improved, and identify areas where broadband service is presently available.
Broadband coverage maps in the master report cannot be provided to the public due to the sensitivity of information; however, documents below summarize the results of the study. Please click on a link to learn more about broadband service within Virginia's Region 2000.
