2010 - 2011 Highlights

• Construction of the 30,000 sq. ft. regional research and education facility.
  
  

• Successfully obtained over $900,000 in grants to develop a nuclear power plant configurable control room to attract R&D funding from the private sector, the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
  
  
• Obtained more than $7 million in grants to bring B&W mPower^TM Integrated System Testing (IST) program to the region, located in the new CAER facility.
  
  
• Collaborated with Virginia's Region 2000 Local Government Council to obtain a $250,000 DOE grant to develop intelligent energy efficient street lighting SmartLights^TM within several localities in the region.
  
  
• Achieved certification as a National Instruments LabVIEW^TM Academy, providing professional development opportunities for the region's engineers.
