2007 Awards Banquet

Mark your calendars now for this year's Technology Council Awards Banquet to be held May 22nd at the Kirkley Hotel. We are pleased to announce that Mr. George Dawson, President and CEO of Centra Health will be this year's keynote speaker. Registration Information

Nominations are now open for our three award categories:

  • Technology Company of the Year
  • Innovator of the Year
  • Educator of the Year
The deadline for award nominations is May 4th.

 
May Wired Wednesday - Vista & Office 2007

Join us for lunch on May 9th with guest speaker Corinne Hoisington, Professor at Central Virginia Community College. Come get a front row seat to see the latest changes made to the entirely new Office 2007 and Windows Vista operating system. Find out the productivity features that will assist your business that are new in the Office suite and operating system platform! Also come see the new Groove 2007 which is a new program in Office 2007 that allows you to share files, manage meetings, track projects, and create a virtual office space.

 
Tech Fair 2007

On May 11, 2007 the Tech Council and CVCC will once again co-host the regional Tech Fair on the campus of CVCC from 9am until 1pm.

Each year, high-school students from across Region 2000 compete in various competitions and meet with local employers at this exciting event.

Here’s your chance to meet with over 300 of the region’s top Technical Students and best of all, it’s free! We have space for up to 20 employers to set up in the cafeteria at CVCC during TechFair 2007. We will provide a table and 2 chairs, you bring the rest.

We have just finished updating our member database and need your help. First, if you are a member of the Technology Council, please review your member information for accuracy and let us know of any errors in the listing.

AREVA Summer Internships

An Open House is planned for Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m. at AREVA's Mill Ridge Rd. location for information about their summer internship program. The minimum age requirement is 16 years old.

 

Summer Tech Academies

The Region 2000 Tech Prep Consortium, in partnership with Central Virginia Community College and the Region 2000 Technology Council will once again offer high technology career academies for middle school students. These academies are high-quality career exploration events and a growth experience for all participants.
