Our 5th annual Technology Council Awards Banquet
will be held May 22nd at the Kirkley Hotel. We
are pleased to announce that Mr. George Dawson,
President and CEO of Centra Health will be this
year's keynote speaker. This is our premier
networking event of the year and your chance to
meet with the region's leading technology
entrepreneurs, educators, and innovators.
Nominations are open until Friday for our three

which is a new program in Office 2007 that
allows you to share files, manage meetings,

Tech Fair 2007 |
|
On May 11, 2007 the Tech Council and CVCC will
once again co-host the regional Tech Fair on the
campus of CVCC from 9am until 1pm.
Each year, high-school students from across
Region 2000 compete in various competitions and
meet with local employers at this exciting
event.
Here's your chance to meet with over 300 of the
region's top Technical Students and best of all,
it's free! We only have space for four more
employers to set up in the cafeteria at CVCC
during TechFair 2007. We will provide a table
and 2 chairs, you bring the rest.

State Procurement Workshop |

Representative from the Commonwealth of Virginia
will discuss the state's new initiative to
increase access to state contracting for small,
women, and minority businesses. Topics include
state certification and use of eVA, the state's
electronic purchasing system. This is your
opportunity to meet state and local government
buyers and hear what products and services
buyers are seeking. CVCC, Merritt Hall, May 14,

Summer Tech Academies |
|
The Region 2000 Tech Prep Consortium, in
partnership with Central Virginia Community
College and the Region 2000 Technology Council
will once again offer high technology career
academies for middle school students. These
academies are high-quality career exploration
events and a growth experience for all
participants. There are only a few spaces left
for this year's academies.
