Camping
State-park campgrounds in Region 2000 together offer hundreds of sites for tent and RV camping. Two such sites of particular interest:
Holiday Lake State Park—located in Appomattox County was voted one of the best in the state. There are facilities for many activities, including camping, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking and equestrian trails.
Paradise Lake Family Campground—Paradise Lake Family Campground offers a lake for fishing and swimming, campsites, picnic areas and a game room.
Smith Mountain Lake State Park—a 1,500-acre park with 16 miles of lake frontage in Bedford County.
