CEDS committee adopts projects for regional strategy

February 24, 2011

Virginia's Region 2000 Local Government Council is leading a process to complete a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region. A regional team has approved a set of goals and objectives for the strategy and recently met to review more than 70 regional projects that have been submitted for inclusion in the CEDS document. The final document will go to the federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) and to Gov. McDonnell, as required for obtaining federal infrastructure and development grants for Region 2000 localities in the future.
