Bedford County celebrates successful "One Program"

September 22, 2010

Bedford County's Office of Economic Development held a Business Appreciation Event on Tuesday, Sept. 21 to thank more than two dozen local companies for their involvement in this year's Bedford One Program. The One Program matches Bedford County high school students with local companies for a day to give kids a first hand look at what jobs they have in their own county.

Two students and one career coach, pictured here, spoke to the group of employers about what the program means to them. "It was great to see how much goes into a product before it ever hits the shelf," said one student.

Dr. Douglas Schuch, Bedford County Schools Superintendent, thanked the businesses for reaching out to the school community and said he hopes to see more programs like it in the future.
