East Pamplin Neighborhood Revitalization Project – CDBG project
This comprehensive revitalization project was awarded to the Town of Pamplin through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Development Block Grant, CDBG, program to provide revitalization to the east side, that area east of U. S. Business 460, within the Town of Pamplin. Components of the project include removal of old dilapidated homes, community clean up, and housing improvements for approximately 20 families. Housing improvements included rehabilitation of existing homes, replacement of substandard homes with new homes, and the creation of home ownership for families that has previously been renters. Another key project product will be the development of a centralized sewage system for the eastern section and old downtown area of Pamplin. Funding for the development of the centralized sewage system is being funded through partner contributions from USDA-Rural Development and CDBG. Other partners who assisted in housing and community clean up include the Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project, Appomattox County, and the Town of Pamplin.
