Future Focus EXPO 2009 draws record number of students
More than 1,200 middle and high school students participated in the Future Focus EXPO on Oct. 13 at Liberty University's Tolsma Indoor Track. The career fair, now in its fourth year, featured dozens of local companies that showed off their products and services, as well as a host of technology challenges in which teens could compete to win awards and prizes.
The event is sponsored by the Region 2000 Technology Council in an effort to expose middle and high school students and their parents to career opportunities in promising career fields. This year, all school districts within Region 2000 participated and some even provided transportation for students.
