Workforce Development Director, The Region 2000 Partnership seeks an energetic leader to coordinate the region’s Workforce Development efforts through coordination and collaboration with multiple stakeholders; develop related plans, policies and initiatives; provide oversight of contracted service providers and serve as lead staff to the Workforce Investment Board.  Communications, planning, interpersonal relations skills are vital in a diverse and changing community.  A minimum 5 years successful leadership experience working with business, education, government and boards is expected.  A Master’s degree is preferred.  Qualified applicants must submit a letter of interest, résumé and the Region 2000 Employment Application.  Application materials should be sent via electronic mail to: with “Workforce Development Director” as the subject line. Application materials will be reviewed beginning April 24, 2014 and will be accepted until filled.  EOE.

Part-Time Planner (On-Call), The Virginia’s Region 2000 Local Government Council is seeking a part-time professional planner for community palnning & development projects, grant preparation & administration, and related efforts on an on-call basis, as needed.  The work will project specific and could include a variety of short and long-range plans and projects, CDBG Planning Grants or VDOT work programs as assigned.  No specific number of hours will be guaranteed as this is an "On-Call", part-time position. 

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major work in planning or related field, and three (3) years related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Master's degree in planning or related field preferred.  AICP membership desirable.  Starting pay range: $21 - $25/hour
