Commercial Information
City of Lynchburg and Campbell County Landfill Charge Account and Commercial Customers:
On July 1, 2008 the City of Lynchburg landfill and the Campbell County landfill will become a regional operation under the new management of the Region 2000 Services Authority.
As we regionalize operations we will close the Campbell County landfill on July 1 and we will receive solid waste from Campbell, Appomattox and Nelson Counties and Lynchburg and Bedford Cities as well as commercial haulers and businesses operating in those localities at the current City of Lynchburg landfill on Concord Turnpike for five to six years until it is full. Then we will reopen and receive waste at the Campbell County landfill. Regionalization of these public landfills will allow us to lower our operating costs which can be passed along to you and the residents by holding our rates steady as long as possible.
Most importantly for Campbell County commercial haulers and businesses, the Campbell County landfill will be closed for several years starting Tuesday, July 1. On July 1, all commercial haulers and businesses operating in Campbell County will bring their waste to the Concord Turnpike Regional Landfill (the current City of Lynchburg landfill) located at 2525 Concord Turnpike in the City of Lynchburg just off of US Route 460. The Landfill Center (Livestock Road, across from Foster Fuels on Route 29)
and other convenience centers in the County will continue to operate for residential customers only.
City of Lynchburg commercial haulers and businesses will continue to bring solid waste to the Concord Turnpike Regional Landfill (the current City of Lynchburg landfill) located at 2525 Concord Turnpike in the City of Lynchburg just off of US Route 460.

Clean, separated Inert Materials accepted at no charge
Inert materials such as rock, brick, concrete, and dirt are accepted at the landfill at no charge as long as the loads are separated and the size of the pieces are less than one cubic foot. Contact the Regional Landfill office in advance (434-455-6086) with your incoming inert material loads so we can let the scalehouse operators know to admit the materials at no charge. We will ask you for the following information:
· where the loads are coming from
· type of inert material
· approximate length of the job
· approximate number of loads
· name of the company hauling the inert material.
Each inert load will be inspected at the scalehouse. If the load is determined NOT to be inert, or if it’s not adequately separated, then you will be charged the commercial rate tipping fee.
Examples of items that are NOT considered inert materials: metal, wood, sawdust, asphalt, concrete with metal rebar or wire, leaves, ash, and grass. Drivers must let the cashier at the scalehouse know if they are carrying a load that is inert before leaving the inbound scale so the load can be inspected at the scalehouse.
Replacement copies of scalehouse tickets will cost $2.00 each
If your driver doesn ’t bring back the scalehouse ticket(s) then there’ll be a $2.00 per ticket charge for each one we reproduce for you. All requests for copies of your scalehouse ticket(s) must be in writing. Our fax number is (434) 847-1809 and e-mail address is servicesauthority@region2000.org.
If the ticket is less than 2 months old, then the charge is $2.00 per ticket. If the ticket needed is 3 months or older then the charge will be $3.00 per ticket. This fee will be added onto your next monthly billing statement.

For Current Campbell County Charge Account Customers:
Current Campbell County commercial charge account customers will be assigned new account numbers. Frequent customers will be issued a ‘truck number decal’ that will be placed on the truck’s left front bumper. These decals will be issued to each of your trucks at the scalehouse of both the current City of Lynchburg landfill and the current Campbell County landfill from June 16 - 30, 2008. An attendant will be available to place these decals on your trucks during this time. The truck number decals are used by the scalehouse attendant to identify your business and track the waste you haul into the regional landfill.
