Local Company Announces Expansion

Posting for news Fourth company to locate in Amherst County industrial park in Madison Heights

Amherst, Virginia - Quality Archery Designs/Lasermarx today announced plans to construct a 17,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Amelon Commerce Center in Madison Heights.

"We have been enjoying steady growth since our formation in 1992 in both our Quality Archery Designs and Lasermarx operations and have reached the point where we need larger quarters," said Dan Summers, President. "We are excited about this expansion and have been very pleased with the support and assistance we have received from Amherst County."

Amherst County's Office of Economic Development and Board of Supervisors worked closely with company officials to provide the support needed to move them forward during the decision making process. Vernon Wood, Chairman of the Amherst County Board of Supervisors, said "I am expressing the sentiment of our entire board when I say that we are extremely pleased with Mr. Summers' decision to expand operations in our industrial park. This is a longstanding, local company that has brought good jobs to our citizens."

According to Wood, the Board of Supervisors has invested a lot of time and resources into making Amelon Commerce Center a first rate location for business. Quality Archery Designs/Lasermarx will become the fourth business to locate in the Center, joining Old Dominion Footwear, England's Stove Works, and the new Commercial Metals Corporation Rebar facility that was recently completed.

Quality Archery Designs manufactures a wide array of archery accessories and bow hunting equipment for both recreational use and tournament competition. The company sells its products through a worldwide network of distributors. Lasermarx specializes in custom laser cutting and engraving with Nd:Yag and CO2 laser equipment serving customers throughout the United States.

Construction is expected to get underway within 90 days with a projected completion date of next Spring.
