Public meeting set for May 6 to discuss cleanup of local streams

A public meeting to discuss a plan to implement voluntary actions and practices to clean up portions of eight local streams will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hall Center Ball Room at Lynchburg College, 1501 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia. The streams being discussed include James River, Ivy Creek, Blackwater Creek, Tomahawk Creek, Burton Creek, Judith Creek, and Beaver Creek.

Citizens will have an opportunity to learn about the stream segment impairments and the water quality plan, and will learn about opportunities to participate in the water quality planning initiative.
