Services Authority

Economic Development Council

	Bryan David Executive Director (434) 847-1447 ext 314 Bryan leads a technology-based, regional economic development program that focuses on retention and growth of the existing employer base, as well as recruitment of new companies and employees to the region.
	Kathy White Economic Development Assistant (434) 847-1447 ext 310 Kathy supports economic development initiatives and projects within the Partnership and is responsible for tracking and allocating private and public funding for the Economic Development Council.
	Catherine Mosley Communications Officer/Program Manager (434) 847-1447 ext 312 Catherine manages communication and marketing for the Partnership, including media relations, news and publications, and public relations activities. She is also responsible for investor relations and regional economic development programs.

Center for Advanced Engineering and Research

	Bob Bailey Executive Director (434) 477-5060 As Executive Director of the CAER, Bob works to target growth industries and high tech industries in Region 2000 and establish effective and beneficial relationships between these industries and major R&D resources, resulting in innovation and the practical implementation of innovation in the region.
	Heather Baum CAER Administrative Coordinator (434) 477-5060 Heather provides overall administrative support and events planning for the CAER. She also provides assistance to the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program.
	Nick Soukhanov CGEP Program Director (434) 832-7831 CGEP Office; (434) 477-5060 CAER Nick coordinates the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP) at Central Virginia Community College (CVCC). Graduate students can earn advanced engineering degrees from George Mason, Old Dominion University, University of Virginia and Virginia Tech through IP-based videoconferencing delivery from Lynchburg, Virginia.

Local Government Council

	Gary F. Christie Executive Director (434) 845-5678 ext. 211 Gary is the Executive Director of the Local Government Council and the Services Authority and actively works with the political leaders of Region 2000 to improve regional cooperation.
	Marjorie Gilley Administrative (434) 845-5678 Ext 210 or (434) 845-3491 Marjorie supports Local Government Council projects and initiatives and handles day-to-day inquiries.
	Rosalie Majerus Deputy Director of Finance (434) 845-5678 ext. 213 Rosalie is responsible for accounting functions in the Local Government Council, Economic Development Council and the Workforce Investment Board.
	Bob White Deputy Director of Planning & Core Services (434) 845-5678 ext. 220 Bob manages regional planning initiatives for the Local Government Council and is involved in areas of transportation, water supply and emergency management services.
	Kelly Hitchcock Senior Planner (434) 845-5678 ext. 218 Kelly works with localities to apply for and manage Community Development Block Grants. She specializes in grant writing and participates in several regional environmental projects such as Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) studies, watershed protection and greenways.
	Scott Smith Senior Planner (434) 845-5678 ext. 214 Scott works with localities to apply for and manage grants including Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Transportation Enhancement Grants. In addition to grant writing, Scott specializes in downtown revitalization and economic development initiatives.
	Philipp Gabathuler Planner/GIS Coordinator (434) 845-5678 ext. 217 Philipp performs professional planning and technical work involving the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the regional GIS service center. He also explores and initiates new projects that will benefit Region 2000 jurisdictions. He also works closely with transit systems in the region with the goal of making systme operations more efficient.
	Emmie G. Boley Financial Services Professional (434) 845-5678 ext. 231 Emmie assists with the accounting functions for the Services Authority, the Local Government Council, Economic Development Council, and Workforce Investment Board.
	Grant Massie (434) 845-5678 ext. 212 Senior Planner (Part Time) Grant works with localities in support of community development and planning projects and regional economic development planning initiatives. Grant is supporting the Neighborhood Stablilization Program effort within the City of Lynchburg as well as the energy grant program sponsored through the State's Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy.

Services Authority

	Clarke W. Gibson, P. E. (434) 455-6079 Solid Waste Director Clarke is responsible for directing regional solid waste management operations and other services of the Region 2000 Services Authority.
	Diane Dodd (434) 455-6085 Recycling Program Manager Diane is responsible for recycling programs within the Region 2000 Services Authority. She also educates the public on the benefits of recycling through speaking engagements for civic groups and schools.
	Robert Arthur (434) 455-6078 Environmental Compliance and Safety Manager Robert is responsible for keeping the landfill in compliance with federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations, in compliance with OSHA, DEQ, and EPA. He also leads safety training programs and oversees construction projects.

Operations Manager
Larry serves as the Operations Manager for the Region 2000 Services Authority. He oversees daily operations at the Concord Turnpike Regional Landfill.

Technology Council

	Jonathan Whitt Executive Director (434) 847-1447 ext. 313 Jonathan works with regional tech-based companies and Region 2000 localities to promote technology innovation and interests that make a positive impact on the economy. The Council also works with building the technology pipeline of workers through its “Get Set” program, career fairs, and educational academies for middle and high school students.
	Elizabeth Narehood Future Focus Foundation -- Managing Director (434) 847-1447 ext. 317 Elizabeth assists with providng leadership, strategy, fund raising, and direction to the Tech Council's educational non-profit foundation.
	Jason Fowler Marketing Technologist (434) 847-1447 ext. 215 Jason maintains marketing and communication efforts for the Technology Council.

Workforce Investment Board

	Abe Loper Interim Executive Director (434) 845-1932 ext. 221 Abe supports the Workforce Investment Board’s efforts to develop innovative workforce solutions that support economic and employee development within Region 2000.
	Susan Cook Administrative Assistant (434) 845-1932 ext. 222 Susan provides administrative support and project assistance to the Workforce Investment Board (WIB).
	Deborah Alfers Region 2000 Career Center (434) 455-5940 ext. 102 Deborah manages the Region 2000 Career Center, the service delivery site for the WIB. The center, located in the lower level at The Plaza, 2323 Memorial Ave., organizes job seeker’ employment, education and training services and employer services into a single system that supports regional prosperity.
