How is this project funded?

This project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration, Virginia Department of Transportation, and Central Virginia Metropolitan Planning Organization.

When will the plan be completed?

The Region 2000 Bicycle Plan is being developed in two phases.  The first portion of the regional plan focuses on what is known as the urbanized area of Region 2000.  This area includes the City of Lynchburg and densely populated areas that are adjacent to the City from the counties of Campbell, Bedford, and Amherst.  This section of the plan will be completed in June 2009.

The complete Region 2000 Bicycle Plan that will include the entire Region 2000 area (Counties of Appomattox, Amherst, Campbell, and Bedford and the cities of Bedford and Lynchburg) will be completed by December 2009.

How do I learn more about the planning process?

You are encouraged to visit the Region 2000 website for plan updates or you may contact Kelly Hitchcock, Senior Planner, at 434-845-3491 or at khitchcock@region2000.org to learn more details.
