STEM Program Manager appointed

Virginia's Region 2000 Technology Council is pleased to announce that Janet Walton has been appointed as Program Manager to manage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) workforce programs.

Janet has a strong background working with non-profit organizations, grants writing, teaching and a love for science and technology. In her new role, she will work with education partners and regional leaders to further develop the pipeline of science and technology workers, focusing on reaching middle and high school students. She will also be responsbile for establishing funding sources through available grants to enable additional workforce development programs.

The Technology Council is engaged in more than a dozen activiites and programs that seek to assist our region's youth in pursuing high-tech careers. Through its education programs and partnerships, it reaches more than 1,000 local students annually.
