Brought to you by Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology, this interactive, hands-on workshop that will help you understand the jargon, acronyms, benefits and misconceptions about telecommunication technologies commonly known as “broadband.” If you are an individual, IT manager, or business owner that has ever asked the question “How could broadband benefit me?” then this is the workshop for you. Led by broadband strategist and implementation specialist Ron Perry, this lively discussion will take you through the basics of broadband and provide the tools necessary to determine where and how broadband connectivity can best benefit your home or organization.

About the Speaker
A Virginia native, Ron Perry has a broad background in the research and development of technology including telecommunications and entrepreneurship. Ron has a wide range of technology related experience including broadband architecture design and strategy, technology strategy, media production and web development.
Prior to starting his current company and joining CIT, Ron was the Manager of Technology Innovation for NTELOS where he created and managed the Internet business unit, later overseeing the engineering and technical development of data products as the Manager of Technology Innovation.
Ron is informally known as the Shenandoah Valley’s “Mad Scientist”, He currently serves as the Technology Chair and Vice Chair on the Board of Directors of the Wildlife Center of Virginia which was awarded a 2004 Computerworld Honors 21st Century Achievement Award.
