Cardboard Boxes

Georgia-Pacific in Big Island is one of the largest producers of containerboard in the U.S. (Containerboard is a corrugated or solid cardboard used to make containers, boxes, box dividers, and reusable shipping pallets.)

Structural Steel

Banker Steel in Lynchburg has provided the steel beams that were used to construct such landmarks as the original Twin Towers, the new Freedom Tower, and the recently-opened Washington Nationals Stadium.

Nuclear Fuel

BWXT’s Uranium Processing and Research Reactors (UPRR) facility in Lynchburg, VA, supplies both high- and low-enriched, aluminum-clad uranium fuel used in plate-type research reactors. The company’s customers also include the US Navy. UPRR currently supplies the U.S. Department of Energy’s laboratory program with oxide fuels for the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HF IR) (pictured).
