Programs and Services
The Region 2000 Career Center is the region’s one-stop comprehensive
source for employers in the area to provide a wide array of programs
and services. These sources are designed to assist businesses in their
goals for expansion, relocation, training their current workforce and
recruiting qualified employees. The following services are available
to relocating and existing employers in the area:
- Recruitment, job posting, applicant and prehire screening, testing,
and applicant referral
- Provision of labor market information including number of workers
in a specific occupation, unemployment statistics, business incentive
information and help with relocation or expansion, trends and wage
information
- Use of the Virtual Career Center software to create an internal
career center for company workers
- Assistance with company downsizing or layoffs onsite through a
Rapid Response team
- On-The-Job training programs tailored to employer and employee
needs with financial incentive for the employer
- Customized training programs with financial incentive to employer
- Tailored training programs designed to assist the employer in meeting
training needs for workplace ethics, work readiness and job success
skills
- Business owner entrepreneurial training
- Links to regional economic planning offices and the VA Department
of Business Assistance
- Incumbent Worker program to boost skill levels of currently working
employees
