Us
The Region 2000 Career Center (One-Stop) is the service delivery site
for the Region 2000 Workforce Investment Board. The center organizes
employment, education and training services into a single system that
supports regional prosperity.
Central Virginia Community College is the Career Center Operator Consortium,
managing the day-to-day activities of the center and coordinating the
contributions of the Partner Consortium that comprises the Center's
Managing Board.
The Career Center operates on the "no wrong door" approach
to provide Workforce Investment Act Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth
programs and access to Employment Services, Adult Education, Post Secondary
Education, Welfare-to-Work, Older Americans Act programs, Job Corps,
Trade Adjustment Assistance, NAFTA Transitional Adjustment Assistance,
Veterans Employment and Training, Community Services Block Grant, Unemployment
Insurance, and other partner programs.
Services are provided by the Region 2000 Career Center located at
2323 Memorial Avenue, Suite 25, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Jobseekers

Career
Center Services
The Region 2000 Career Center offers services ranging from self-service
activities to more concentrated staff-assisted services.
The three levels of services that individuals are to progress through
as mandated by the WIA are: core services, intensive services
and training, with the more extensive services being provided only after
the individual is unable to obtain employment with basic services.
