Youth Sports

Many organized sports are played throughout Central Virginia, and youth leagues abound. Soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis and football are the most popular with participants’ ages ranging from 4 to 18.

(The YMCA’s of Altavista, Bedford and Central Virginia also offer organized sports for youth throughout the region.)

To support youth sports, localities throughout the region have greatly increased the number of athletic fields in recent years. The new Lynchburg Regional Soccer Complex located in Campbell County boasts 10 full-size soccer fields. The Lynchburg Nissan field is new to the Forest area of Bedford County and is home to 4 new football fields.
